Vetting Requirements

Please note the minimum vetting requirements we need are listed below, and ensure you have checked which veterinary certificate applies to your application. The vetting certificate must be valid and no older than 30 days. If we do not receive the original vetting certificate within the first 14 days of the policy being taken out, then your insurance policy will be cancelled.

A BVA mortality certificate for:

All foals aged between 30 days to 1 year

A BVA Stage 5 certificate:

Any horse at the value of £4,500 and over
Loss of use any value (loss of use will only apply to horses aged from 4 to 12 years old)

Note: If you own a horse or you’re its main keeper, you are responsible for making sure you have an up-to-date horse passport so your horse can be identified. If your horse does not have a valid passport this could invalidate your insurance.

* Certificates should be sent to the address shown below and must arrive within the first 14 days of you policy start date. We accept no liability for certificates not received or lost in transit. You may wish to consider sending these as recorded delivery or some other secure postal method.
